EUROPEAN CLIMATE DIPLOMACY DAY 2015 [pl]
Representatives of the cities of Warsaw, Berlin, Paris and London as well as central governments and the European Commission will share their experience on how big cities can benefit from reducing carbon dioxide emissions by implementing climate protection policies and innovative solutions. For their inhabitants it means a better quality of life, innovative jobs, and a prosperous economy.
Cities around the globe are engaged in tackling climate change. Many mayors and local administrations have become champions of climate protection with a clear understanding of the crucial contribution of urban areas to prevent climate change.
Although cities take up a few percentage points of the earth’s total landmass, they contribute up to 80% of the world’s emitted carbon dioxide. If untackled, severe negative consequences for the overall quality of life of their inhabitants would occur.
